Ingredients
meatballs:
500g/ 1lbs ground beef
1 small white onion, finely diced
100g/ 7oz feta
1 ½ tbsp pine nuts
1 tbsp finely chopped mint
½ tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp dried oregano
zest of ½ lemon
soutie tomato & olive salt
black pepper
tomato sauce:
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp sugar
1 small onion, finely diced
1 garlic clove, crushed
½ tsp dried chilli flakes
700g/ 17 oz tomato passata puree
soutie tomato & olive salt

Method
combine all meatball ingredients in a small bowl and work well with hands until completely combined. roll into 12 meatballs and set aside in the fridge
heat a cast iron casserole on the stovetop and add olive oil, onion, garlic, chilli, and saute until translucent
add tomato puree, and sugar and season with soutie tomato & olive salt and pepper. bring to a boil
once boiling, add meatballs gently to the sauce and spoon the sauce over them
turn heat down to a simmer and gently simmer for 20-30 mins, turning meatballs halfway through until cooked to your liking
serve with spoonfuls of sauce, crunchy bread and a greek salad
